The writers note the striking finding of Crespo-Facorro et al.'s positron emission tomography of a relatively decreased blood flow in the left rostral supplementary motor area. They explain that Crespo-Facorro et al. argued that this hypoactivation could reflect a deficit of internal response selection and the timing/sequencing of mental function.
