Sumario:The writer asserts that cognitive neuroscience endeavors to identify the brain events that underlie cognitive operations. He presents a set of figures that represent neuronal vector firing changes in the motor cortex of a monkey that are related to the cognitive operation of mental rotation. He reveals that individual recordings from neurons in the motor cortex concur with the concept that the directional transformation required by the task performed by the monkey was achieved by a counter-clockwise rotation of an imagined motor vector.
