He notes that this software can generally be divided into two types: stand-alone treatment planning and clinical documentation software; and treatment planning and clinical documentation software that is integrated into a larger practice management or electronic medical record system. The writer examines both types, but foregoes a discussion of the “higher-end” electronic medical record system.
