Sumario:	The article discusses the usage and the development of the Oral-Formulaic Theory since its initial stage in the field of Eddic studies. It offers an overview of the Oral-Formulaic Theory. It argues with some relevant problems and scholarly views and gives interpretation in some cases. It explores the application of the Oral-Formulaic Theory in the poetic Edda. It details the Eddic poems "Alvíssmál" and "Hávamál" from an oral-formulaic point of view because of the different techniques of memorisation.
