      ab: The article focuses on a set of design principles for building an energy-efficient computer systems and data centers. It notes the importance for a system, whether a server or data center, to be capable of proportional change in power consumption based on offered load. It notes that the memory, input/output bandwidth and storage bandwidth should be deallocated because much of their memory is full of dead data and will never be used again. The autonomous hardware and firmware energy management mechanisms to balance power-performance goals are discussed.
