| Sumario: | The article presents a brief profile of fifth/eleventh-century Cairene physician Ibn RiOB;wãn. Fifth/eleventh century biographer al-Qifṭī described RiOB;wãn as a scholar living in Egypt and an astrologer in his early days. Medical knowledge came from learning a little of medicine and a little of logic. His works included writings on classic works such as Ptolemy's "Qudripartitum" and Galen's books on medicine. The physician taught and practiced medicine and astrology in Egypt until his death in the 460s. |
