| Sumario: | This article describes the use of Holland's RIASEC theory as an assessment intervention in workshop settings with a wide range of Australians living in regional, rural or remote areas, e.g., the bush. The article draws upon the experiences of the first author in providing career guidance services to underserved populations in that country, including disengaged secondary students and unemployed people living in difficult social and economic circumstances. Assessment activities involve key elements in RIASEC theory and the application of the theory incorporated into the Self-Directed Search--Revised (Australian Edition, 2000). |
