| Sumario: | The article examines whether the agency model of pricing for electronic books (e-books) under which a publisher appoints an agent to sell e-books on a publisher's behalf at prices determined by the publisher, can be legal. Information is presented on potential pitfalls of the agency model in complying with competition laws of Great Britain. Some of the legal issues that publishers need to consider in line with competition law include the pro-agent legislation across the European Union (EU) and the direct liability of publishers to customers. |
