Sumario:The article examines how different socio-cognitive metaphors are activated both in Spanish Caribbean fiction and non-fiction. It looks at how writers on any Caribbean topic construct the meaning of the epithet, and how they bring meaning and form from experience in the process of cognitive construction. The article uses a method and model from the cognitive sciences to examine the cultures through their key words.
