Sumario:	The article offers information on Infiniband, a new input/output (I/O) standard which promises to boost I/O speeds and to make server connections as easy as plugging a toaster into an outlet. Infiniband eliminates the bottleneck in the server by removing the I/O function from the server entirely, and allowing disparate server components to be networked together. It also adds intelligence to the communication that takes place between the various peripherals and components, forming what amounts to an I/O network among them.
