Summary:This article examines four revolutionary changes that have occurred in the world over the past several decades and explains the implications of these changes for the practice of social work by Christians. New or expanding social work practice roles resulting from these changes are identified, and the knowledge, values, and skills sets that are needed to perform these roles are described. Finally, the article discusses several "eternal truths" that Christian social workers will always be able to draw upon in their professional practice.
