| Sumario: | A juvenile community treatment alternative to longterm state institutionalization is reviewed, and a means of monitoring participant progress through the five step Individual Developmental Treatment Alternative (IDSA) program is presented. Analysis of three years of staff-generated residential behavior data on 30 participants reveals differentiation in response to the treatment program when controlling for two major antecedent variables offense and age. Further evaluation research is recommended, based on these tentative findings, to determine if differentiated treatment may be effective with individuals who have certain distinguishable characteristics.
