| Sumario: | The article calls for an update of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Code of Ethics, which was adopted in 1973 and which had its last revision in 1996. It says that the code's fourth principle, which is acting independently, needs to be revised because it has been the cause of controversies.
