Summary:An essay is presented on the archaeological, anthropological, and genetic evidence on the evolution of South Asian culture. It discusses the archaeological and anthropological evidences from the time of the presence of modern man's ancestors to the evolution of Chalcolithic and Neolithic cultures. Moreover, both the evidence from human remains and stone artifacts suggests that South need not look to its neighbor for either genetic and phenotypic contributions.
