| Sumario: | The author argues that the analysis of complementation patterns of perception verbs should also take into account cases which have so far been ignored. He asserts that the non-finite pattern does not exhaust the complementation types found with perception verbs. He stresses that the approach of M. Haspelmath does not always make correct predictions despite being able to capture the observation that the as-patterns are less frequent than the nonfinite pattern. He also discusses T. Givón's approach on the potential semantic differences. |
