Sumario:The article examines the use of computerized tomography (CT) scanning in geology research related to petroleum and natural gas prospecting, a process known as digital rock physics. Amos Nur, an executive for the company Ingrain, which is engaged in digital rock physics, states that the process creates three-dimensional images of the structure of a rock sample, allowing prospectors to predict how the petroleum or natural gas within the grains of the rock behaves.
