| Sumario: | The article discusses Answer Set Programming (ASP), examining its use in solving hard computational problems and looking at its applications. The authors discusses the propositional setting of ASP including atoms, literals, and rules, operators, and modeling language used in ASP. The article examines how ASP was used by Nicola Leone of the University of Calabria (UNiCaL) to develop a work-force management system which creates teams of employees at the Gioia Tauro Seaport in Gioia Tauro, Italy. The use of ASP in music composition systems and molecular biology research is also examined.
