      ab: The article explores the characterization of Baltic pottery and amber from the regions of West Lithuania and South Lithuania. It notes that the pottery and amber samples were investigated and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy techniques. According to the FTIR results, all the analyzed ambers come in a common class of fossil resin called Baltic ambers that is not dependent on the sample location in the area. Meanwhile, XRD results showed that small amount of quartz in some samples is trapped inside the amber.
