Sumario:The article presents a survey on the education, Judaism and politics in Israel. Focus of the study was on the developments relating to the ideological component as it impinged upon Israel's educational system. With regard to the Jewish majority, the first 20 years of education in Israel were characterized by issues and problems directly related to the basic policies of the 1949 Education Act, which mapped out fundamental legislative and administrative policies directed toward the objective of welding into one people the original Jewish population and of creating an indigenous society based on the collective Jewish past.
