Using survey data from the Australian Election Study (AES), the article looks at the number of voters who have used the internet to get news during Federal election years between 1998 and 2010. The article discusses how the use of the internet could change political participation, examining how voters can limit the information they access, the socio-demographics of voters who use the internet, and democratic engagement.
