Sumario:The article discusses the results of a study aiming to determine whether Palaeolithic toolmakers in northeastern Japan, specifically at the Ueno-A site, heat-treated rocks as part of the tool manufacturing process. The experiment involved heat alteration of shale samples and examination of artifacts from the Ueno-A site which showed color alterations and fractures possibly caused by heat treatment.
