        In this work, we present a Facial Optical Mouse with an electronic interface based on optoelectronics devices. A microcontroller with an USB module was used. Development of a device and software have been implemented. This device allows using a computer to the people with severe motor incapacity in extremities superiors, especially those that present quadriplejia. Communication protocol using infrared (IR) to have wireless control of computer cursor have been implemented. A mechanical device have been designed. This design is capable of adjusting to different facial contours, and it takes advantage of optimal facial movements of a quadriplejic person. Software that emulates a physical keyboard on the computer screen allows the character writing in any text processor.
        En este trabajo se presenta un diseño de un Mouse Óptico Facial con una interfaz electrónica basada en dispositivos optoelectrónicos, utilizando un microcontrolador con módulo USB. Se ha implementado el desarrollo de un dispositivo y un software que permite acceder y utilizar una computadora a las personas con discapacidades motrices severa en extremidades superiores, en especial las que presentan cuadrapléjia. Se ha implementad un protocolo de comunicación mediante luz infrarroja (IR) para tener control inalámbrica del cursor de la computadora. Se ha diseñado un dispositivo mecánico capaz de ajustarse a los diferentes contornos faciales. Con este diseño, se aprovecha de forma óptima los movimientos faciales de una persona cuadrapléjica. Cabe mencionar que en este diseño es necesario un software que emule un teclado físico en la pantalla de la computadora, el cual, permite la escritura de caracteres en cualquier procesador de textos.
