Sumario:The article discusses application software performance prioritization in multicore processing computer systems. According to the author, some processors enable manual modification of dynamic resourcing features that can improve capacity utilization. Topics include scheduling priorities, floating point units (FPUs), and the allocation of resources for parallel applications. Load balancing for multithreaded processors is mentioned. A chart is presented of example topologies for Intel Xeon and SPARC T4 processors.
