Sumario:The article suggests that the greatest impact of British mathematician Alan Turing on contemporary science may stem from his insights into the human brain, despite being a prominent figure in computer science. It describes the methods deployed by Turning which involved a combination of statistics, logical analysis and mechanical approaches. The concept of inductive inference, which is at the heart of Turing's approach, is discussed.
