ab: The article discusses the the roles of risk and uncertainty on climate change policy decisionmaking. Constructivist and ecological accounts of rationality are addressed. The views of economist Frank Knight regarding probabilities are noted. The authors discuss serial and parallel decision making systems in relation to the contingency of human knowledge. It is said that the quantification of risk in the area of climate change policy is difficult due to variable factors regarding which there is uncertainty.
