Sumario:	The article discusses fines, law enforcement agents, and anti-corruption measures in the Ottoman Empire. It examines changes over time, particularly after the seventeenth century, commenting on factors including economic inflation, governmental decentralization, and tax farming. Measures to prevent corruption included rotating law enforcement officials through different regions and separating the processes of adjudication and punishment. The compensation of law enforcement officials is also considered.
