Sumario:The article profiles geographer Anne Kelly Knowles, focusing on her work in historical geographic information systems (GIS). It particularly comments on the application of this methodology to studying the decisions of Confederate General Robert E. Lee in the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania during the U.S. Civil War in 1863 and the study the Holocaust, including the spread of Nazi concentration camps and death squads in the Soviet Union.
