Sumario:The article discusses the etymologies of the Sanskrit-derived words "tantra" and "yantra" presented in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), and argues that they are inaccurate and misleading. The author states that "tantra" derives from the word "tanu" or "body", not "tantu" or "loom" as the OED indicates and that the closest equivalent to "yantra" in English is "machine," not diagram or meditation object as stated in the OED, and declares that the editors of the OED should correct the mistakes.
