      ab: Background: School teachers possess very limited knowledge on learning disability among children and have negative feeling towards children with learning disability of the developmental disorders learning disability plays a significant role as a silent handicap among children. Objective: To determine the knowledge and attitude on learning disabilities among school teachers and develop a 'Self Instructional Module on Learning Disabilities 'for teachers. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted among 60 primary school teachers selected by Convenient sampling technique from selected schools at Bhilai. A structured questionnaire for knowledge and attitude scale for attitude assessment was used. Results: The study revealed that none of teachers had excellent knowledge on learning disability but almost all (98.3%) had highly favourable attitude towards such children. A positive correlation (r = +0.83) was identified between knowledge and attitude of teachers towards children with learning disability. A Self Instructional Module was developed and distributed among the teachers to improve their knowledge on this aspect.
