| Sumario: | The article focuses on the establishment of the definition of green jobs by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). BLS first set three criteria for the definition and reviewed existing definitions in surveys by several states, other federal agencies, industry, research and international organizations. Green jobs can be either jobs in businesses that offer services or goods that benefit the environment, or jobs at establishments that use environment-friendly production processes. It discusses the methods used in Green Goods and Services and Green Technologies and Practices surveys that were the basis of the definition. |
