Sumario:The article presents the principal statistical series collected by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), definitions of data and symbols, and sources of information used in the articles published within the issue. Seasonal adjustments are made to avoid the effect of several factors such as school opening and closings and industry production schedule on monthly and quarterly data. Among the labor market indicators used by BLS in its surveys are changes in compensation, productivity and prices. Employment data is obtained from the Current Population Survey conducted by the Census Bureau for BLS.
