| Sumario: | The author explores the uncomfortable relationship between the university and Western market society in the twenty-first century which is based on impact and how to measure it quickly. He observes that impact, in an American context, has been shaken by initiatives to conceive and deliver online instruction. The author states that if such developments continue, judges of the impact of higher education will have to alter their perspectives, and the market then will exercise its own influence. |
