At a time when material production and linguistic communication become equivalent (according to Paolo Virno), some poets are committed to an ethical criticism of the political economy of the sign. In their most recent books, Chilean poets Anwandter and Gubbins, and Peruvian Montalbetti attempt a «appropriation of language through cold means—language usage that falls between the legible and the illegible: combinatoires, pastiche, recycling of texts, autoreflexivity. The objective of this "conceptual poetry" is to open new forms of experience that stem from a resistance to signification itself. Este ensayo rastrea algunas poéticas que se oponen a la relación actual entre lenguaje y capitalismo, definida por la legibilidad total del signo lingüístico y la conversión del potencial semiótico en capital. En un momento en el que producción material y comunicación lingüística se hacen equivalentes (Paolo Virno), algunos poetas asumen el compromiso ético de hacer una crítica de la economía política del signo. Los chilenos Anwandter y Gubbins, y el peruano Montalbetti, exploran en sus últimos poemarios una reapropiación del lenguaje desde ciertos usos fríos entre lo legible y lo ilegible (combinatorias, pastiche, reciclaje de textos, error, reflexividad).
