        El poder blando es un concepto acuñado por Joseph Nye para describir el comportamiento internacional suave de algunas potencias en un escenario donde tradicionalmente se ha utilizado la fuerza como argumento principal de negociación. Pensado para algunas conductas deseables a corto plazo para los Estados Unidos, ha sido China, en cambio, quién ha adoptado el concepto como principio rector de su política exterior. El presente ensayo trata de hacer un balance y una explicación de tal política en el 2011 y las consecuencias inmediatas para los diferentes actores internacionales que conviven día a día con la nueva potencia mundial.
