| Sumario: | The article offers the author's view on the residencies of contemporary artists. The author states that the residencies which was situated outside cities, were considered to be traces of the early modern artistic colonies. The author cites that the residencies formed influential schools with specific background and were located in distant areas. The nature of the residencies is a contested area and is a seclusion from the social-personal and the economical concerns. The author also mentions that engaging in a residency affirms a mode to engage with the world and manifest itself through comparison. |
