Sumario:The article discusses the relationship between British science fiction writing and British films and television. Particular focus is given to works produced following the 21st-century U.S. invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. According to the author, these British visual texts challenge the ideological tropes of the U.S. film industry as well as British adoption of supposedly American values such as individualism and militarism. The television programs "Survivors" and "Outcasts" are discussed.
