Sumario:The author describes the highlights of the third annual "IfBookThen" conference held in Milan, Italy on March 19, 2013. She relates that the conference's featured speakers had advised traditional publishers that in order for them to compete with online media companies such as Amazon.com, they should rethink their old business models that rely mainly on book sales and team up with technology start-up firms that could help them develop products that will offer them new ways of generating revenue.
