      ab: The article addresses the robustness and efficiency issues surrounding the field of computer science. According to the author, there is a need to tackle the trade-off between robustness and efficiency to achieve better scalable computing. Structured redundancy is employed by fault tolerance and software reliability fields to improve robustness, the author says. The Correctness and Efficiency Only (CEO) goal of software is discussed, as well as the CEO Software mind-set and the original concept of general-purpose digital computing. In networked consumer computing, the author points out that a system is more susceptible to failure or breakdown if more CEO Software is added.
