Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP), is a disease with unknown etiology which is characterized with, alveolar and/or peripheral eosinophilia and pulmonary infiltrations near the pleura in chest roentgenogram. CEP may develop in people of any age. More than one half of patients have asthma. There is no a history of smoking in most of cases. Peripheral eosinophilia is common. In rare cases CEP required invasive mechanical ventilation due to severe acute respiratory failure. In our clinic, three cases (three males age range of 24-70 years) were diagnosed with idiopathic CEP. Diagnosis were done with the inclusion of the peripheral lesions on their radiological evaluation, detecting peripheral blood eosinophilia and increased eosinophilia in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and with the responsed dramatically to the steroid therapy. Cases were presented with their clinical and radiological findings.
KEP her yaşta görülebilir.
