Sumario:	The article discusses highlights of the events leading to the signing of the law (PL 113-46) by U.S. President Barack Obama on October 17, 2013 that ended the sixteen-day government shutdown and provide appropriations through January 15, 2014, back pay for furloughed federal employees, and income verification measure for health care subsidies through state insurance exchanges.
