| Sumario: | The article discusses various aspects of information technology (IT) impact sourcing, a new approach to outsourcing IT-related work to base-of-pyramid (BoP) suppliers as of December 2013. The author presents several reasons why the IT professional and academic community should support impact sourcing. Several approaches to BoP outsourcing are presented including arbitrage outsourcing, mainstream outsourcing and ethical outsourcing. The report "Job Creation Through Building the Field of Impact Sourcing" from the Rockefeller Foundation and how it helped promote impact sourcing are discussed. |
