| Sumario: | This article reports that Microsoft Corp., the world's biggest software firm, announced a formal partnership with Compaq Computer Corp., a Houston-based computer maker which is challenging IBM for leadership of the world PC market, on April 13, 1993. The partnership has two main aims. The first is to make personal computers easier to use. And the second aim is to kick-start the market for what are known as personal digital assistants (PDAs). Many in the industry think the PDA, a paperback-sized combination of computer, fax, cellular link and an electronic notepad that understands written commands, will be the PC of the coming decade.
