El grau d'intervenció del traductor determina l'acostament del text al lector. Amb la comparació de les quatre traduccions catalanes de La llegenda del cor menjat, el conte novè de la quarta jornada del Decameró de Giovanni Boccaccio, es pot comprovar que cada traductor utilitza estratègies diferents per mirar de resoldre un mateix problema de traducció.
