This study was carried out with 200 students from the Turkish Language Teaching Department of the İnönü University. As the data collection tool the acceptability and reliability study, which was developed by Dökmen (1994), was implemented. A "Reading Interest Scale", consisted of 20 clauses, was used. This study that was set under the relational screening model is a descriptive research. The data acquired in the research was analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 21.0 programme. The findings acquired were evaluated at the 95% confidence interval and the 5% level of significance. It is found that the level of reading interest of the students participated in this study was fair (54,320 ± 8,807). The reading interest of 91 students (45,5%) is low, 106 (53,0%) student's was fair and 3 (1,5%) student's was high. The difference among the average scores of the groups was not found statistically significant (F=2,129; p=0,098>0.05) after the One-way variant (ANOVA) analysis was carried out to determine whether the reading interest scores of the students, who participated in this research, show a significant difference as compared those of the class variable. The difference among the average group scores was not found statistically significant (t=0,051; p=0,960>0,05) following the t-test carried out to determine whether the average reading interest scores of the students, who participated in this research, show a significant difference in terms of the gender variable. In this regard, the level of reading interest of Turkish teacher candidates did not show a significant difference in terms of grade and gender variable. Their general reading interest level was found as "fair". Amacı Türkçe öğretmeni adaylarının okuma ilgi düzeylerini belirleyebilmek olan çalışmanın problem tümcesi 'Türkçe Öğretmenliği lisans öğrencilerinin okuma ilgi düzeyleri farklı değişkenlere göre incelendiğinde değişiklik göstermekte midir?" olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma, İnönü Üniversitesi Türkçe Öğretmenliği Bölümünden 200 öğrenciyle yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Dökmen (1994) tarafından geliştirilen, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılmış 20 maddelik "Okuma İlgisi Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Çalışma ilişkisel tarama modelinde hazırlanmış betimsel nitelikte bir araştırmadır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 21.0 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular %95 güven aralığında, %5 anlamlılık düzeyinde değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin "okuma ilgisi" düzeyi orta (54,320 ± 8,807) düzeyde saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin okuma ilgisi k değişkenine göre 91'i (%45,5) düşük, 106'sı (%53,0) orta, 3'ü (%1,5) yüksek olarak dağılmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin okuma ilgisi puanları ortalamalarının sınıf düzeyi değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan tek yönlü varyans analizi (Anova) sonucunda grup ortalamaları arasındaki fark istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bulunmamıştır (F=2,129; p=0,098>0.05). Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin okuma ilgisi puanları ortalamalarının cinsiyet değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan t-testi sonucunda grup ortalamaları arasındaki fark istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bulunmamıştır (t=0,051; p=0,960>0,05).
