Topics include revelations about mass surveillance by U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden beginning in 2013, the control of the Internet's Domain Name System (DNS) and Internet protocol (IP) addresses by the U.S.-based nonprofit group Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), and an April 2014 conference of the multinational organization NETmundial in San Paulo, Brazil.
