Summary:The article discusses strategy for dealing with cyberattacks. Topics covered include the traditional threat model which states that every target must block every attack, and the importance of knowing which attacks can be neglected. It examines whether focusing on the sub-problem of financially motivated cybercrime will allow progress on the questions of exactly when and how to deviate from the binary model, and proposes a bifurcation of attacks into those that are financially motivated and those that are not.
