It can be associated with other malformations, but its mayor association is with congenital cardiac abnormalities. It is generally under-diagnosed because most of the cases are asymptomatic and its diagnosis therefore incidental. The most common diagnostic methods to study this entity are computed tomography, angiography or magnetic resonance. The case we report is a patient with interruption of the inferior vena cava with azygos vein continuation. Las malformaciones de la vena cava inferior son raras y la ausencia de la vena cava inferior intrahepática corresponde a un pequeño porcentaje de estas. En algunos casos, se puede asociar con otras anomalías, pero su mayor importancia es la asociación con malformaciones cardiacas. Generalmente es asintomática y su diagnóstico se hace usualmente de manera incidental. El diagnóstico por imágenes se realiza con escanografla, angiografla o por resonancia magnética.
