En el contexto de las economías campesinas, que se desarrollan en sectores geográficos en que sus ecosistemas son frágiles desde el punto de vista productivo, por limitaciones de suelo, topografía, condiciones climáticas como el frío, lluvia y nieve, no es fácil identificar alternativas de desarrollo económico sostenibles que permitan superar situaciones de subsistencia. No obstante, en el caso de la agricultura familiar campesina asentada en los territorios de la zona agroecológica de Cordillera Andina, ella tiene un potencial de desarrollo futuro asociado a iniciativas de turismo de intereses especiales con los sistemas de producción sustentados en conocimientos y manejos tradicionales e interculturales. En este contexto es que surge la necesidad de analizar las potenciales sinergias de estos con iniciativas asociadas al turismo de intereses especiales y con la propuesta de una Ruta Patrimonial asociada a los sistemas de producción de montaña.
