| description | The following article aims to characterize the trajectory of agribusiness in the O'Higgins region, mainly fruticulture, over the last three decades. Through the analysis of four dimensions: production, employment, income and use of land and water, attempt is made to establish an internal differentiation, which allows us to recognize a second stage in productive modernization after the Agrarian Reform. In general terms scholars has been proposed the existence of a process of crop intensification, based on the installation of new species and the use of more and better technologies. This analysis is carried out through the quantitative work of social and productive databases, as well as the elaboration of cartographies that allow us to observe this process. At the same time, we reflect on the configuration of the rural space in the region, highlighting the tension between the elements that are maintained in relation to those that are being transformed. In this way, a second stage is identified, whose main characteristics lie in its spatial heterogeneity, that is, that it does not affect the whole territory in the same way, as well as the deployment of new crops and technical improvements are accompanied by the maintenance of old structures in agroindustrial production the region. |

El siguiente artículo busca caracterizar la trayectoria de la agroindustria en la región de O´Higgins, fundamentalmente la fruticultura, en las últimas tres décadas. A través del análisis de cuatro dimensiones: producción, empleo, ingresos y uso de la tierra y el agua, se intenta establecer una diferenciación interna, que nos permite reconocer una segunda etapa en la modernización productiva posterior a la Reforma Agraria. En líneas generales, se ha planteado la existencia de un proceso de intensificación en los cultivos a partir de la instalación de nuevas especies y el uso de más y mejores tecnologías. Este análisis se realiza a través del trabajo cuantitativo de bases de datos sociales y productivas, así como la elaboración de cartografías que permiten observar dicho proceso. Conjuntamente, se reflexiona en torno a la configuración del espacio rural en la región, relevando la tensión entre los elementos que se mantienen en relación con los que se van transformando. De esta manera, se logra identificar una segunda etapa, cuyas características principales está en su heterogeneidad espacial, es decir, que no afecta a todo el territorio de la misma manera, así como el despliegue de nuevos cultivos y mejoras técnicas van acompañadas de la mantención de viejas estructuras en la producción agroindustrial de la región. O seguinte artigo procura caracterizar a trajetória do agronegócio na região de O'Higgins, principalmente a fruticultura, ao longo das últimas três décadas. Através da análise de quatro dimensões: produção, emprego, rendimento e utilização da terra e da água, tenta-se estabelecer uma diferenciação interna, o que nos permite reconhecer uma segunda fase na modernização da produção após a Reforma Agrária. Em termos gerais, tem sido sugerida a existência de um processo de intensificação das culturas, com base na instalação de novas espécies e na utilização de mais e melhores tecnologias. Esta análise é realizada através do trabalho quantitativo de bases de dados sociais e produtivas, assim como a elaboração de cartografias que nos permitem observar este processo. Ao mesmo tempo, refletimos sobre a configuração do espaço rural na região, ressaltando-se a tensão entre os elementos que são mantidos em relação aos que estão sendo transformados. Desta forma, é identificada uma segunda fase, cujas principais características residem na sua heterogeneidade espacial, ou seja, não afecta todo o território da mesma forma, tal como a implantação de novas culturas e melhorias técnicas são acompanhadas pela manutenção de estruturas antigas na produção agro-industrial da região.
