El presente artículo tiene como objetivo proponer que entre 1927 y 1931 acontece una especialización de los servicios de investigaciones, la cual se sostuvo a partir de la emisión de diversos decretos y normativas, las cuales pugnaron con la estructura establecida por Carabineros a partir de la inflexión que suscito la caída de Ibáñez en 1931, situándose como el primer momento de inflexión en el proceso de diferenciación entre ambas instituciones.
